Fin 513 Financial Management

Examines the financial concepts and problem solving skills required to evaluate whether managerial decisions add value to the firm. Students will develop an understanding of the financial implications of business decisions and a framework with which to evaluate their decisions. An integral part of this approach requires understanding how the different functional areas of a business interrelate and the supporting role that finance can provide. Topics considered include cash flow analysis, risk determination, valuation, working capital management, and financing. Ethical standards are an essential guide to sound financial decision-making and long term value creation and are integrated throughout the course.
