Mth 428 Partial Differential Equations II

Solution techniques, qualitative analysis and applications: separation of variables, eigenfunction expansion, Sturm-Liouville problems, Green's functions, Fourier transform solutions, finite difference and finite element methods. This is the second course in a sequence of two: Mth 427 and Mth 428 which must be taken in sequence. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Mth 528 and may be taken only once for credit.
