Mth 587 Topics in Discrete Mathematics for Mathematics Teachers

Selected topics from: permutations and combinations,partitions, generating functions, inclusion and exclusion principles, recurrence relations, Polya's theory of counting, elementary theory of graphs and trees, block designs. Applications directed to teaching of Discrete Mathematics at the high school level. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Mth 487; with departmental approval may be repeated for credit.
