Ph 434 Methods of Mathematical Physics

A survey of methods of applied mathematics used in modern physics, to include: vectors, matrices, operators, and eigenvalues; perturbation theory and series expansion; variation and optimization; numerical methods; transforms; and special functions. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Ph 534 and may be taken only once for credit.
