Stat 551 Applied Statistics for Engineers and Scientists I

An introduction to techniques of applied probability, statistics, and data analysis. Stat 451/551: sample spaces, probability and counting measures, discrete and continuous probability models, sampling theory, and computer applications. Stat 452.552: point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, regression, correlation, experimental design, analysis of variance, multivariable experiments, nonparametrics, statistical quality control, and computer applications. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Stat 451 and may be taken only once for credit. This is the first in a sequence of two courses: Stat 551 and Stat 552.
