Soc 520 Urbanization and Community
Analytical approach to the meaning of community in the modern world. The determinants, social consequences of, and responses to the processes of urbanization are considered. Theories of the city emphasizing ecological, sociocultural, and critical explanations for growth and change in urban regions are examined. Patterns of social and structural organization of the metropolis and the cognitive and behavioral aspects of urban life are explored. Expected preparation:
