ESR 692 Foundations of Social-Ecological Systems

This theory and applications course acquaints students with key ecological, social, economic and philosophical theories underlying science and management of social-ecological systems. We explore a unifying conceptual model connecting biophysical and social parameters linked by ecosystem services, human perspectives, behaviors and institutional policies in coupled natural and human systems. This is the same course as ESM 592 and Soc 692 and may be taken only once for credit.
