Explores movement and the mechanisms by which organisms transduce, encode, and ultimately perceive information from both the external and internal environment. Topics: Touch and Proprioception, Pain, Vision, Auditory System, Vestibular System, Chemical Senses, Lower Motor Neuron Circuits and Motor Control, Upper Motor Neuron Control of the Brainstem and Spinal Cord, Modulation of Movement by the Basal Ganglia, Modulation of Movement by the Cerebellum, Visceral Motor System. Expected preparation: Bi 462.
