Mus 426 Instrumental Jazz Arranging III
In-depth study and application of the fundamentals of composing and arranging for small to large jazz ensembles. Subjects included are history, transposition, instruments, forms, harmonic and melodic construction, rhythm section, voicing, moving harmonization, score and part preparation, vocal arranging techniques, rehearsal techniques, and MIDI applications. Instructor approval required. This is the third course in a sequence of three:
Mus 424,
Mus 425, and
Mus 426.
