Coun 526 Effective teaching in school counseling

This Counselor Education course is designed to prepare students to teach in the classroom settings. Topics covered include effective teaching strategies designed to help school counselors-in-training be equipped with teaching strategies and classroom management to teach the social-emotional curriculum in classroom settings. This class will prepare students to have teaching competencies: planning for instruction, establishing a classroom climate conducive to learning, implementing instructional plans, evaluating pupil achievement, fostering professional relationships, and addressing organizational expectations. This course is required for all school counseling students and licensure-only students.
