Fin 473 Student Managed Stock Fund

An experiential course in which students make decisions on the management of real dollar stock portfolios. In their first quarter enrolled in the course, students serve as sector analysts. In this role, students apply knowledge of economic, industry, company, and valuation analysis in developing their own quarterly recommendations for changes to the composition of the portfolio. In following quarters, students may continue as sector analysts in different sectors, or may serve as a sector manager. In the sector manager, role students apply the knowledge gained from prior experience as a sector analyst along with portfolio management and performance assessment principles to assist sector analysts with building recommendations. Sector managers have voting privileges for making changes to the portfolio. Offered fall, winter, and spring terms. This course is repeatable for up to 6 credits.
