Comm 448 Science Communication

Explores the relationship between science and society, with a special emphasis on the communication of controversial topics in science. The class covers the latest theoretical and practical approaches to science communication and public engagement for topics like climate change, vaccination, and biotechnology. The goal of this course is to support students in becoming sophisticated consumers and producers of science communication, and to enhance students’ ability to critically evaluate and respond to current socio-ecological issues using a social scientific perspective.
