Coun 445 Ecosystems of Youth in Schools
An overview of ecosystems that impact/interact with youth in schools: student growth/development, cultural/racial identity development, mental/ physical, spiritual health. Instructional focus on preparing school counselors to work with youth experiencing barriers to education/development. Ideas for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention/intervention for individual, family, school and community perspectives will be presented. Guidelines for development of crisis response plans and responsibilities for school counselors related to individual, community, national, and global crises.
