Geog 580 Fundamentals of Remote Sensing

Provides an introduction to the scientific principles and practices involved in the acquisition and interpretation of remote sensing data, with an emphasis on satellite imagery. Topics include multispectral, thermal, and SAR imaging, interactions of light with matter, image interpretation, and the use of GIS software to display, enhance, correct, and manipulate remote sensing data. Course includes computer-based lab exercises.
