Psy 472 Psychology of Addictive Behaviors
Psychology of addictive behavior comprises an area of study devoted to investigating and understanding psychological factors contributing to the development of substance-related and behavioral addictive disorders and related conditions, along with implications for prevention and treatment. Topics span alcohol and drug use and disorder and behavioral addictions, such as gambling. Expected preparation: Stat 243 and
Stat 244, plus 12 credits in psychology, including
Psy 321;
Soc 200 and
PHE 250 may be substituted for 4 of these credits.
