Soc 593 Quantitative Methods

Introduces graduate level statistics and quantitative methods, with an emphasis on the applied statistical analysis of social data. The course progresses from univariate and bivariate analyses through linear and logistic regression. Students build research and analytical writing skills as they connect their analyses to theory and accurately and concisely report quantitative results. Students learn effective processes of quantitative analysis, link statistical theory to applied statistical analyses, write and present a preliminary quantitative research paper, and interpret and evaluate their peers’ quantitative research.
