G 448 Groundwater Chemistry

Study of groundwater geochemistry with an emphasis on rock-water interactions affecting groundwater quality. The course will cover practical applications for resource evaluation, the fate and transport of contaminants, and constraining groundwater sources, ages, and flow paths. Topics covered will include solute transport in aquifer systems, mineral solubility, complexation, carbonate chemistry, redox reactions, surface phenomena, and isotope chemistry.
