Hst 547 American Constitutional History I
Hst 447/547: Examines the intellectual origins, creation, and ratification of the American Constitution and the early efforts of the U.S. Supreme Court to construe that document. Covers the period 1787-1860 and focuses primarily on the Marshall and Taney eras. This is the first course in a sequence of three: Hst 547, Hst 548, and Hst 549. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Hst 447 and may be taken only once for credit.
