ITP 453 Planning, Assessment, and Curriculum
This course explores the theoretical frameworks and practical strategies that assist new teachers in planning effective classroom curriculum, assessments and instruction across academic subject areas, while focusing on the developmental and learning needs of students. Students will learn and practice a variety of techniques for unit and lesson planning, thoughtful instructional strategies and best practices in specific content areas, and how to develop formative classroom assessments that are standards-based and are aligned with instruction and curriculum design. Also offered for graduate-level credit as ITP 553 and may be taken only once for credit.

Prerequisites: admission to the Bilingual Teacher Pathway Program.
