Art 295 Sculpture: The Figure
A studio art course that studies sculptural forms and volumes through observation of the human body. The focus of this course will be a study of the human figure in form and gesture and an exploration of the methods and materials appropriate to that study. Observation and perception, proportion, analysis of the human skeleton and musculature, and figurative abstraction will be addressed. When restricted, this course is open to non-majors with instructor's consent or departmental approval. Maximum 4 credits. Recommended preparation: Art 117 (expected of art & art history majors).
