MuEd 201 Introduction to Music Education

Offers a broad overview of the role of the music teacher in a K-12 classroom with a focus on lesson planning, national standards, and curricular goals. Students will begin to establish their personal philosophy around curriculum, repertoire, classroom management, culturally responsive teaching, and community building. Includes a practicum component in which students observe in-service teachers throughout the quarter in order to give context to the content covered in class.
