SW 547 Social Work and Environmental Justice

Explores the role of racism, colonization, white supremacy, neoliberalism, and capitalism in environmental injustice through an Africana worldview. Employs a multidisciplinary perspective to examine the role of social work in achieving environmental justice at individual, community, regional, national, and global levels. This course considers the environmental, economic, and social aspects of sustainability, theoretically and practically, and social work links to the attainment of justice. Class includes a photovoice project focused on environmental justice.
