PS 481 Democratic Theory
Critical examination of the principles of democratic politics, including important statements in the history of political thought and contemporary political theory. Issues discussed include participation, deliberation, electoral competition, constitutionalism, and the challenges of democratic legitimacy in the context of US institutions and increasing globalization. Also offered for graduate-level credit as PS 581 and may be taken only once for credit.
