Mus 525 Instrumental Jazz Arranging
In-depth study and application of the fundamentals of composing and arranging for small to large jazz ensembles. Subjects included are history, transposition, instruments, forms, harmonic and melodic construction, rhythm section, voicing, moving harmonization, score and part preparation, vocal arranging techniques, rehearsal techniques, and MIDI applications. Instructor approval required. This is the second course in a sequence of three:
