SW 511 Field Seminar and Field Placement

Engage in 9-month agency-based generalist field internship and concurrent weekly seminar. Apply knowledge gained in social work courses and build skills in real-world practice settings, while concurrently synthesizing field learning with peers in discussion-based seminar to explore what it means to be a social worker; reflect on how their identities, use of power, definition of professionalism, use of supervision, engagement with ethics, and conceptualization of social worker well-being inform their approach to social work practice.
